Christopher McKinney is a contemporary painter known for vibrant, colorful landscapes infused with unexpected and atypical subject matter. Working primarily in acrylic on canvas, his paintings explore emotion through bold color relationships, layered textures, and a strong sense of balance.

McKinney earned his BFA in Fine Arts from Washington State University and currently resides in Vancouver, Washington. His work has been exhibited at the Tacoma Art Museum, Astoria’s RiverSea Gallery, and in numerous local exhibitions throughout Vancouver, as well as in solo shows and private corporate and personal collections across Oregon, California, and Washington.

Informed by extensive travel and a deep appreciation for wide open spaces, McKinney’s work invites viewers to pause and immerse themselves emotionally. His goal is for each viewer to stand before a painting and become lost in feeling—where color, texture, and composition function like notes on a scale, creating moments of quiet reflection and personal connection.
